Counting down to November 24
Posted on 07. Nov, 2010 by Shell in Blog
Things are getting very exciting for us here in Hobart. This weekend Rhonda Tranks is in town and together with Angela Percy we had a very productive meeting yesterday finalising last minute things.
Our conference organiser, Tracy, has withdrawn from her role so any queries you may have had of Tracy need to be directed to me, Shel, either via phone or through the conference email. Please consider that I work Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday between 9.00 and 4.30. I am happy to take your calls on other days and after hours.
Pre-conference Program to be finalised by 12 November
Posted on 07. Nov, 2010 by Shell in Blog
While there have been some fantastic pre-conference offerings, some of those will have to be withdrawn due to shortage of registrations. Those people who have registered for workshops that are withdrawn will be offered a refund or registration in an alternate workshop.
Any one affected by changes to the pre-conference program will be contacted by email to discuss options. Keep your eyes glued to this space for further updates.

Comments on the Blog

Being something of a self-confessed techo-dummy, I have only just found comments people have made on the Blog. Can I ask that you NOT write to the blog but send an email to the conference email address if you have a query and want it answered.
In all seriousness, its not just the techno know- how which means I don’t respond to your comments, its also time. I simply don’t have time to come and check out the website on a regular basis whereas conference emails get checked at least twice a week, though most weeks daily.
Thanks for your understanding.

Creation Team Meeting
Posted on 21. Mar, 2010 by Shell in Blog
Last week we had a very productive meeting of the conference creation team. We welcomed new team member, Louise Russell. Louise is Tasmanian based and has a wealth of experience in working with people.
We made some important decisions during our meeting including capping conference numbers at 180 people. This is to ensure those attending are comfortable in the spaces we are using.
We extended the early bird deadline to July 31.
Thank you to those who have done the surveymonkey and a very special thank you to Andrew Huffer for creating the survey for us.
We are still going through Expressions of Interest and will make final decisions soon.
Keep watching the space for updates and don’t forget to register early to ensure you are one of the 180 people meeting 42 degrees south.
Cheers
Shirley

We think it looks great and is user friendly. We are gearing up to make this a terrific conference experience for all participants.
Planning is well underway with the Bahai Centre for Learning being confirmed the conference home. Our conference dinner will be at Moorilla Estate. Buses have already been booked. Expressions of Interest for conference and pre-conference workshops have started to come in and our program will be available to you by Mid April. Don’t forget to lodge your EOI if you wish to offer a workshop.
Our conference planning team will be keeping you up to date between now and November and soon we will have profiles of those working to create the AFN conference 2010.
Regards
Shirley
